After winning the title in a nail-biting finish, Forrest left the gambling tournament held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with $500,000 in prize money. A host of well-known professional gambling fans participated over the three day event, slowly being eliminated along the way.
The championship title was finally decided by a best of three competition between the remaining players – Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Ted Forrest. In a tense conclusion to the gambling tournament, Ted Forrest emerged victorious. However Ferguson was also well rewarded for his efforts, pocketing over $250,000 dollars for his place as runner up in the gambling event for the second year in a row.
NBC plans to broadcast the entire championship event beginning on April 16. The final will be shown in late May, and is also rumored to be repeated on cable outlet CNBC. In recent years, poker gambling competitions have received high television ratings, with several channels now dedicated to bringing poker action to the increasing number of gambling fans.
